Be careful not to miss the KTU WANTed Career Days event on Wednesday, October 27, which will take place online and will be broadcast on youtube and lrt.lt.
Career prospects is one thing that interests all. While the final year students might be interested in finding an internship, securing a place for a successful career launch, the first-year students might want to explore their career prospects in the chosen field of study. Similarly, companies are always interested in meeting young talents and hearing their insights on the job market and its offers.
WANTed Career Days 2021, organized by Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) for the 17th time, will provide plenty of opportunities for networking, expanding the knowledge on the hot topics related to the career and current job market challenges, meeting potential employers and taking part in different activities aimed at developing one’s skills and competencies.
Over the years, KTU WANTed Career Days have helped thousands of students successfully enter the job market and assisted companies in finding talented interns and employees.
This year, KTU WANTed, one of the largest career planning events in the Baltic States will be held virtually for the second time. The organisers have prepared many interesting solutions and interactive options for maximizing the live experience of the event. The event will be broadcast on two channels: lrt.lt and youtube.com. In total, 14 hours of uninterrupted broadcasting will take place.
The presentations of the companies will take place throughout the day. From 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., 58 companies’ presentations WANTed meets WANTed will be broadcast on KTU Youtube channel; the show will be hosted by journalist, TV presenter Ugnė Siparė and Laisvės TV program director Ignas Kinčinas. The hosts will be assisted by journalists, radio and TV presenters Timūras Augucevičius, Lukas Keraitis, Goda Raibytė, Ignas Grinevičius and Linas Marcišauskas, who will visit companies in Kaunas, Vilnius, Kėdainiai, Gargždai and Mažeikiai and will attempt to ask all the questions on behalf of students so as all the important issues are covered. As KTU boasts a large international community of students and graduates, the company presentation session will be available both in Lithuanian and in English.
Company presentations are divided into three main sectors according to their activities: advanced manufacturing processes, materials and technologies; smart, sustainable cities and transport; digital and inclusive society and economy. Check the full programme of the WANTed meets WANTed here.
The Small Talks conference will start at 10 a.m. and will be moderated by Dovydas Pancerovas, a research journalist, writer and author of three books. The representatives of different companies will deliver 14 presentations on the most relevant topics in today’s job market. Is it better to work individually or within a team? Over the distance or in the office? In a large corporation or a small startup? These and more topics will be analysed in the conference broadcast by lrt.lt. By the way, the event is organised in cooperation with the Kaunas Territorial Division of the Lithuanian Sign Language Translation Center, therefore the conference reports read in Lithuanian will be translated into sign language.
The keynote speeches of the conference, The WANTed Talks will be delivered by Andrius Mamontovas, the most famous Lithuanian performer and songwriter, who will discuss long-term career success, KTU professor, by inventor Arminas Ragauskas, who will talk about the future challenges that await young professionals, and by Tadas Burgaila, Kilo Health co-founder and CEO, Unicorns LT board member who will share inspiring experiences about start-ups and what can be learned from them.

Job interview simulations for pre-registered and selected students will take place from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and a speed networking session – from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. During these activities, the potential employees and interns will have the opportunity to get to know their future employers directly.
In addition, this year the participants of the event will have the opportunity to listen to the presentation of KTU during HOST Talks.
The closing event of the Career Days, WANTed Talks Forum will invite to participate in the discussion “Together or one by one? The Influence of the University and Business on the Competitiveness of Young Professionals and the Country” among the main partners and the representatives of the University.
