Erasmus+ study exchange is a great way to travel for experience, learn new skills, improve your language skills and get to know other cultures. In addition, research shows that study exchange can be a decisive factor in achieving a desired career as it shows a candidate’s courage and openness to other cultures.

KTU International Relations Department reminds that applications for Erasmus+ study exchange are accepted until 25 September.

It was unforgettable, I would recommend this to everyone, I gained invaluable experience, studies in another university were interesting and useful – these are most frequent comment of the students returning after study exchange abroad”, says Dovilė Tranauskaitė, KTU Outgoing Student Mobility Specialist.

She points out that students can go on study exchange with an Erasmus+ or Mobility Scholarship after their first year and study in more than 50 countries around the world.

Urtė Mackevičiūtė, KTU student in Netherlands

“I missed challenges in my life, so I decided to move to the Netherlands for a semester”, says Urtė Mackevičiūtė, a student of Communication and Information Management Technology. During the autumn semester of 2023, she furthered her knowledge at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.

According to Urtė, the Erasmus exchange in the Netherlands was not a spontaneous decision.

After much deliberation, Urtė decided after the Covid-19 pandemic that she wanted to spice up her everyday life.

“In my second year, I started thinking seriously about exchange studies abroad, until one evening I asked myself: five years later, will I regret missing this opportunity?”, she recalls.

There are many more stories like this. Students who have shared them say they have made friends all over the world, learned to be independent, pushed beyond their comfort zone and discovered new sides of their personality. Many of them return and start planning to go again.

KTU international relations staff reminds that partial studies abroad are available to all KTU students who want to get acquainted with the education system of other countries and improve their intercultural competencies.
