Next week Scandinavian Days in Kaunas will take place, Kaunas Municipality informs. A rich program of virtual events and a few live activities will be waiting for Kaunas residents and guests throughout the week, which will provide the opportunity to feel the true spirit of Nordic culture. KTU Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities is among the organisations of one of the events.
“We are not used to think about how much Scandinavia is around us. Scandinavian Days, which has become an annual tradition, will help Kaunas residents and guests to understand not only the cultural connections among our countries but also to consider the solutions for common issues concerning sustainability, ecology, sustainable mobility and social equality”, says Mantas Jurgutis, Deputy Mayor of Kaunas.
The virtual forum “Sustainable cities. The Nordic experience”, organised by KTU together with the Nordic Council of Ministers will take place on Wednesday, May 12 at 1 pm. The speakers of the Forum will share their experiences on Scandinavian city projects, the results achieved and the challenges they face in the field of sustainability. The Forum will be moderated by Ainius Lašas, Dean of the KTU Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.
For those willing to explore the city on foot, the Kaunas Tourism Information office is inviting you to take a city tour to discover the Scandinavian footsteps in the cityscape. If you start the walk at Kaunas IN Tourism Information Centre, they will provide you tokens for free coffee along the route, as coffee is a necessary addition to a Finnish or Swedish daily routine. The map of the route can be found here.
