QS World University Rankings: KTU’s popularity among international students is rising

Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is becoming more and more popular among international students according to the newest edition of QS World University Rankings – KTU’s rank in international students’ category grew by 19% since the last year.

“Constantly increasing study quality, teaching and learning innovations implemented and the growing competences of teachers are appreciated and valued by our students. Satisfied with the KTU study quality, international students are recommending our university of their friends”, says Lolita Jurkšienė, Head of Department for Strategy Monitoring and Processes at KTU.

In comparison to the last year, the student to faculty ratio has improved, which shows the continuous KTU effort to increase study quality. According to this criteria, KTU is ranked 416 among all the universities listed in QS WUR 2019. Also, KTU is among the best 500 in the world (ranked 445) by the employer reputation criteria, which means that our graduates successfully adapt to the job market and their skills and knowledge are matching the employers’ expectations and needs.

In QS World University Rankings, the higher education institutions are ranked according to following criteria: academic reputation (40 percent), employer reputation (10 percent), citations per faculty (20 percent), student to faculty ratio (20 percent), international faculty (5 percent), international students (5 percent).

1,233 higher education institutions were assessed this year, 1,011 made it to the final list; 60 universities were ranked for the first time. KTU is one of four Lithuanian universities ranked by QS WUR.
