The event will therefore encourage participants to approach career planning as a conscious process with personal meaning.
Representatives of more than 120 companies and organisations will be ready to meet potential employees, present career opportunities and help them take their first steps on a professional path. School pupils and university students will be able to make valuable connections, take part in recruitment activities and win prizes.
Spaces Designed for Different Needs
For the second year in a row, special reporter Rūta Ašvydytė – influencer and host of KTU’s “Mokslas paprastai” (Science Made Simple) podcast – will interview company representatives, share behind-the-scenes moments and capture the first connections forming between employers and future professionals.
One of the event’s most anticipated parts is the WANTed Talks conference. This year, it will be hosted by content creator Linas Marcišauskas, known on social media as “Linas dirba darbus” (“Linas Gets Things Done”). Earlier this summer, he and KTU launched the “Karjeros link” (“Towards a Career”) podcast to help young people take their first career steps with confidence.
At the conference, the event’s three main corporate partners will share inspiring stories about finding a career that fits you. Mantas Kalnietis, President of football club Kauno Žalgiris, will explore whether a career is a sprint or a marathon. KTU will be represented by Aelita Zabulionė, a junior researcher at the KTU Food Institute, who will explain why careers are shaped by more than chance.
According to Skučienė, the company awards will return this year. Event visitors and a panel of experts will select winners in three categories: the most popular company, “The Most WANTed”; the most interesting company, “The Most WANTed Look”; and the company with the most effective communication, “The Most WANTed Friend”. The winning companies will be recognised at the closing ceremony.
“The award winners will be announced at the event’s closing ceremony at 3:45 p.m. We have also prepared a special surprise for the finale, adding a distinctive creative touch to the event. Popular rapper and poet Pijus Opera will bring his own creativity to the award announcements and help make the closing moments inspiring and memorable,” says Skučienė.
In the “WANTed meets WANTed” networking area, students, graduates and school pupils will be able to talk directly with representatives of various organisations, learn more about their work, find out about internship and job opportunities, and build professional connections. Some companies will showcase their innovations in the Inspiration Space.
As in previous years, the popular “Make Your CV WANTed” zone will offer advice from career specialists on writing a CV and creating a LinkedIn profile, as well as preparing to present yourself effectively to employers. Professional photographers will also take high-quality professional portraits. KTU students will be able to share their details with employers through the KTU job and internship opportunities platform.
