Presidents’ scholarships for KTU students

28 students from Lithuanian universities have received Presidents’ Scholarships from Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science. 4 Kaunas University of Technology students are among the recipients of this honorary award.

“The honorary Lithuanian Presidents’ Scholarships are being awarded to the most talented students of our country. We wish that this incentive serves as a motivation for the young people to aim for the best results, to follow their dreams and to achieve their goals”, says Jurgita Petrauskienė, the Minister of Education and Science of Lithuania.

President’s Antanas Smetona Scholarship, assigned for students of humanities and arts was awarded to Agnė Medėkšaitė, the 4th year media philosophy student (Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities).

President’s Aleksandras Stulginskis Scholarship assigned for students of mathematics, informatics and natural sciences was awarded to Aleksas Prelgauskis, the 3rd year programming student (Faculty of Informatics).

President’s Jonas Žemaitis Scholarship, assigned for exceptional achievements in engineering and technologies was awarded to Kristijonas Kerekeš the 4th year mechatronics student (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Design).

President’s Algirdas Brazauskas Scholarship assigned for students of social sciences (education, law, business and public management) was awarded to Kotryna Nagytė the 4th year finances’ student (School of Economics and Business).

The candidates for the Presidents’ Scholarships are being selected annually based on the students’ academic achievements and their involvement into research or social activities. The Scholarship is being assigned for a year; its size is 190 EUR a month for undergraduates and 266 for master’s students.

Presidents’ Scholarships were established in 1995.
