KTU WANTed Career Days 2023: the many ways to balanced career

Important | 2023-10-19

The largest career planning event in the Baltics, KTU WANTed Career Days 2023, encouraged high school and university students, and company representatives to collaborate and talk about career prospects. This year, the nineteenth KTU Career Days took place. This year’s event’s focus is balance – finding and sustaining it through various stages of one’s career.

Maintaining a work-life balance is desirable for everyone. It allows you to work more productively and creatively, and to rest after work. The organisers of Career Days emphasise that finding a balance is a lifelong process, requiring time management and logical thinking skills, self-awareness and additional knowledge.

140 participating companies will help young people in their questi for balanced career.

The Rector of KTU, Professor Eugenijus Valatka, encourages the participants to use the opportunities provided by the event to the full.

“Every year, I look forward to KTU career days with pride and a little excitement. I am proud to see so many young people who are already thinking about their career paths today and are eager to explore the opportunities, which were not there when I was a student. I am happy to see the impressive growth of the event in its 19 years of existence,” says Valatka, who encourages people to be confident and to bravely explore all the possibilities.

A successful career can start here

This year, the largest career planning and networking event in Lithuania will offer a stunning number of opportunities: participants will be able to get to know the companies and enjoy spaces dedicated to interactive activities and innovations, discussions and organisational innovations.

WANTed meets WANTed, the contact zone that attracts the most visitors each year invites each participant to get up close and personal with the companies, find out more about their activities, talk about career opportunities and leave their contacts.

The participants will have the opportunity to discuss their career perspectives with experts from Centric IT Solutions Lithuania, EPAM, Teltonika, HELLA Lithuania, Continental, Litgrid, Swedbank, Vinted, Mars Lietuva, Ignitis grupė, Hollister Lietuva, Accenture Baltics, Littelfuse and many others.

Visitors to the expanded Make Your CV WANTed area will receive career advice, and pre-registered visitors will be able to update their job description photos. There will also be an introduction to the opportunities to participate in study exchange programmes, ECIU University activities and offers to join activities organised by KTU Startup Space.

WANTed Talks conference will be moderated by illusionist Rokas Bernatonis and will explore the main theme of this year’s Career Days – balance. Speakers and invited guests will delve into finding work-life balance at the start of a career, the skills needed for success and avoiding burnout.

Konstantinas Lilas, performer, music author, and member of the former music duo “Lilas and Innomine”, will also share his story at the conference, and will openly discuss perfectionism, productivity and burnout with Bernatonis.

The annual Career Days event promises to be more exciting and interactive than ever before, with an awards ceremony closing the event, where the winners in three different categories will be chosen by the visitors themselves.
