All the screenings take place in the meadow in front of Kaunas Castle (you will see the crowds gathering armed with picnic mats and snacks) around 9.30pm, when it becomes dark enough for outside screening. All the open-air screenings are free of charge and are being shown in original language with Lithuanian subtitles.

A total of 13 films will be shown in the open-air theatre this summer. Romuva is an art house cinema of Kaunas, therefore one can get acquainted to non-Hollywood production through films from Iran, Norway, Austria or France.

The open-air cinema season opened on 20 July with Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson. The next screenings in English, aside from aforementioned The Rolling Stones Tour, will be College (1927) on 17 August, Secret Sharer (2014) on 24 August. Also, on 31 August Kaunas open-air cinema viewers will be invited to check out Vilnius International Short films festival programme.

As the building of Romuva is currently being reconstructed, the cinema uses the premises of National Kaunas Drama Theatre on Kęstučio Street 62. This is where the screenings will be moved in case of tropical storms or extremely cold weather. Some of the open-air screenings will be held in the backyard of the theatre, too.
