One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things. According to Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) graduate Dovilė Žemaitytė this quote by American writer Henry Miller fits perfectly to describe her internship in Spain after finishing her International Business master’s studies.
‘New experience, different perspective on the wonderful country and its people, and even self-awareness are the main things that I’ve acquired through my internship’, said recent KTU graduate.
Žemaitytė was working in a traditional Spanish family-owned company ‘Reposteria Valverde’, where she could adapt her accounting and marketing knowledge. ‘Even though it was a small company, but I was warmly accepted’, assured Žemaitytė.
Each day she gained more experience and learned more about business world, which allowed her to compare working in Lithuania and in Spain. According to Žemaitytė, that was quite a challenge, because Spanish siesta really exists.
She was pleasantly surprised to discover the beauty of Spain and its fantastic cuisine. Žemaitytė had the opportunity to visit other cities, see mountains and simply enjoy the wonderful Spanish landscape. ‘I can say with certainty that I fell in love with this country’, she said.
Program ‘Partners4Value’ enabled her to explore new culture, meet new friends and improve many skills. As claimed by Žemaitytė, it was a wonderful life school, and she is grateful for the opportunity of being a part of it.
D. Žemaitytė recommends international experience opportunity with ‘Erasmus+’ to everyone.
