10 International PhD Students Awarded Scholarships for Achievements

38 PhD students of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) will receive additional scholarships of 900 euros for their exceptional achievements in research activities. Among the awardees are 10 international students.

The scholarships will be awarded to the best doctoral students who have been participating in the 2017’s competition of the most active PhD students: those who have been publishing their research findings in scientific publications, been participating in international conferences and in research projects and R&D activities.

The annual competition of the most active doctoral students is open to all KTU PhD students. Their applications and achievements are being evaluated and the winners selected by the doctoral committees in every science field.

“My most sincere greetings to all the winners of this year’s competition. Let the next year, 2018 be full of exceptional achievements”, says Leonas Balaševičius, Head of KTU International Doctoral School.

Scholarships for achievements are not the only ones KTU offers to the doctoral students. In 2017, aiming to encourage the students to publish their scientific research findings in international journals, 28 students were awarded additional one-time scholarships, amounting to 9 thousand euros.

This year the scholarships for achievements were awarded to: Oguzdjan Semih, Tatariants Maksym, Bezvikonnyi Oleksandr, Hladka Iryna, Danyliv Yan, Krishnamoorthy Shanker Ganesh, Tiwari Kumar Anubhav, Hamarat Yasin, Magomedov Artiom, Titty Varghese.

International PhD students at KTU take up 15.7% of all KTU doctoral students.
