Monday 30 January the Welcome Week for the International students arriving to Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) starts. Full week of events ranging from city and campus tours to lectures on Lithuanian culture and University life will provide a fresh start to the new members of our international community, joining us this Spring Semester.
Lectures, discussions, tours to Vilnius and to the old capital of Lithuania, Trakai, welcome party and movie night are among the highlights of the welcome event. The organisers, KTU Department of International Relations, with the help of volunteers will aim to make the start of the new academic year for the international “freshers” as smooth as possible.
Around 200 new international students are coming to KTU this spring. The most popular countries the international students come from are France, Belgium and India. This semester the University will also greet a student from Brazil of Lithuanian descent.
In total more than 880 international students are studying at KTU. Congratulations to all of you and welcome back to the returning ones. Good luck with all your academic endeavours and do not forget that there is more to life than studies.
