On Tuesday, December 15, Intermedix Lietuva opened its second office based in Lithuania, Kaunas. Intermedix Lietuva, a part of USA based Intermedix Corporation is one of the fastest growing employers in both Kaunas and Lithuania.
Since the establishment of its headquarters in Lithuania, Intermedix has been closely cooperating with Kaunas University of Technology (KTU): the company has invested 100 thousand euros into the start-of-the-art laboratory for informatics students at KTU’s Santaka Valley. The majority of Intermedix Lietuva employees are students and graduates of KTU.
The new office is located in a building operated by Norwegian investors, where previously worked ISM University of Management and Economics.
The investment to the office establishment was 1.5 million euros, and it has more than 3.6 thousand. sq.m. of workspace. It’s planned that here will work around 350 employees.
According to Intermedix Lithuania Vice President and Director Lukas Jankauskas, opening of this office is a logical step for the rapidly growing company.
“We are planning to finish this year having 600 employees, and the next year we plan to shoot up to 750. We needed a new space to expand. This building is right next to our first office, it is spacious and meets the highest requirements of the modern office with 356 workplaces. Some staff have already moved in”, says Jankauskas.
Lithuanian Economy Minister Evaldas Gustas argues that Intermedix Lithuania sets an example to other international companies.
“There is a myth that Vilnius, being the capital, attracts all the most talented professionals, who provide high-quality intellectual services, and the other regions of Lithuania have no choice, but to develop manufacture. Intermedix in Kaunas is a role model for other international companies – they are welcome here no less than in the capital”, said Gustas.
Foreign investment and development agency Invest Lithuania General Manager Mantas Katinas agrees with the Minister: “Lithuania was the first country in Europe which opened its doors to Intermedix. Resounding success of the company’s development proves that Lithuania can become an international centre for US companies advancing into European markets”.
