Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is a household name in Azerbaijan. In Baku study fair Education and Career on 10–12 October KTU was the most popular among ten Lithuanian institutions of higher education taking part in the fair.
The KTU stand was the most popular among general public and journalists. Also, the press paid special attention to the fact that Vusal Gurbanov, an Azerbaijani KTU graduate, received his degree certificate from the hands of Lithuanian Defence Minister Juozas Olekas during an official reception at Lithuanian Embassy.
Azerbaijan news agency The First News published an article on Lithuanian institutions taking part at the fair Education and Career. Neringa Narbutienė, Head of KTU International Studies Office was interviewed by the press. She said, that since 2010 when the University took part at the fair for the first time, the number of Azerbaijani students at KTU grew from 2 to 48. 10 of them have already graduated. A day before the fair KTU graduates have organised a KTU graduate reunion in Baku.
‘The first students from Azerbaijan mostly studied at the School of Economics and Business. Today they are studying informatics, engineering science, architecture – the students are choosing professions which are becoming more popular at home’, said Narbutienė. Click here for the full article.
Recently KTU has received a delegation from Azerbaijani press. The journalists were impressed by research facilities at KTU, which were the best in Lithuania according to them.
