This week the elite Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018 were announced. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) has demonstrated a breakthrough in International Outlook category.
1,102 higher education institutions from 77 countries were ranked this year. KTU is one of the two Lithuanian universities in the rankings.
In THE Rankings the universities are being evaluated in 5 categories: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. Since last year, KTU’s evaluation in teaching in research has risen by 1 point and in industry outlook category – by 2.2 points.
“KTU’s rank is improving in three out of five positions. We are especially pleased to see the growing score in the international outlook category, which reflects the institution’s capability to attract students, teachers and researchers from other countries for studies and research projects”, says Lolita Jurkšienė, Head of Department for Strategy Monitoring and Processes at KTU.
KTU is ranked 1001+ in THE Rankings 2018. The highest evaluation the University has in industry income category. Here it is ranked in 680 place.
Earlier this year Times Higher Education (THE) has announced the rankings of the best universities in Europe 2016–2017. According to the rankings, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is among the best 400 European universities (301+ category).
THE World University Rankings, established in 2004 is being praised by professionals for its methodology and valued as one of the most reliable tools for ranking higher education institutions.
