Hacker Games Kaunas are back to Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Santaka Valley this weekend. Kaunas is a special place for Hacker Games as numbers from the past year have not been beaten yet – 250 participants and 41 projects over the course of weekend. More than 240 registrations have been received for this year’s game, Startup Lithuania informs. The organizers of the event are Startup Lithuania, Enterprise Lithuania and KTU Startup Space.
Hacker Games at KTU Santaka Valley will start at 7pm with idea pitching and forming of teams. The hackaton will feature both teams formed at the event, and those who come to the Hacker Games with a team ready. However, only the projects built from scratch are eligible for prizes
“We were competing in Hardware Track category for the best technical solution. In this category, it is important not only to propose a solution to a real problem, but also to implement it technologically. That is the beauty of this event – you have not only to have the idea, but also to implement it… over the weekend”, KTU student Donatas Miklušis, a member of one the last year’s winning team says.
The teams will start working on their projects on Friday and continue through day and night until Sunday. On Saturday, meetings with mentors will be available – 24 professionals, whose expertise ranges from gaming to software and hardware, cross media, UX, business development and marketing are ready to assist the participants.
This year’s there will be four tracks: Software, Hardware, Games and Cross Media. The prize fund is more than 5 thousand Euros.
