Ensuring sustainable careers for refugee women in the host country (ESCAR)

Project description:

Project aims to theoretically base and empirically investigate the critical factors that determine the sustainable career of refugee women in the host country and provide recommendations for women for ensuring a sustainable career for refugees.
Objectives:
1. Conceptualize the construct of sustainable careers by identifying critical components of sustainable careers for refugee women at the individual, employer, and host country levels.
2. To investigate the factors that presuppose a sustainable career of refugee women at the individual level.
3. Assess the country’s readiness to ensure sustainable careers for refugee women.
4. Investigate employers’ readiness to ensure sustainable careers for refugee women.
5. To provide recommendations, integrating proposals at the level of the host country and employers, to ensure the sustainable career of women refugees.

Research Council of Lithuania, Competitive priority research programme “Strengthening Societal Resilience and Crisis Management in the Context of Contemporary Geopolitical Situation”


Project results:

Based on the results of a scientific study, a portfolio of measures will be formed to ensure sustainable careers for refugees, and recommendations will be developed on how to ensure sustainable careers for female refugees. These measures and recommendations will contribute to more effective integration of refugees, institutions’ ability to quickly respond to crisis situations, and stronger societal cohesion and resilience.
