Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is expanding its range of international collaboration: KTU Institute of Environmental Engineering has joined the initiative “Cool Down the Planet” established by Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. Any student or alumni can submit innovative solutions for the challenges presented and win as much as 7,000 Euros.

“Our institute has been actively taking part in international projects related to solving environmental challenges and problems. I hope that our experience will contribute to the success of the Delft University’s initiative”, says Kamilė Petrauskienė, the “Cool Down the Planet” coordinator at KTU, PhD student in environmental engineering.

“Cool Down the Planet” by Delft University of Technology has the ambition of being the first real crowd engineering instrument to help solve the most urgent topic of our times – global warming.

Why it is crowd engineering? This tool enables international students, independent experts and enthusiasts to brainstorm and work online in a special platform to answer detailed questions. The goal is to catch attention for the running challenges, to have interesting input for the second round, where finalists will manage their online collaboration on the platform. Sharing ideas together might well improve your plans and give them a better basis.

“Cool Down the Planet” invites both students (alumnus as well) and crowd engineers around the world to come up with smart and innovative solutions.
Moreover, “Cool Down the Planet” has a special award system, therefore all finalists and winners will be generously rewarded!
 So please, visit https://www.cooldowntheplanet.com/
 Take a moment of your time to study the three challenges and see whether you can contribute
 Next, submit your solution
 Then if you make it through to the next round, you will get your own platform to work it out further „online“ with help from the internet crowd and gain support for your solutions
 After that, process all input into a final plan
 Check the rewards!
