This weekend, April 28–30 Kaunas will become a jazz capital of Lithuania – the 26th jazz festival Kaunas Jazz will take place. Kaunas citizens and guests are invited to enjoy a whole range of events in various locations. The best thing about Kaunas Jazz is that most of its events are free, and, therefore – very student-friendly.
The city centre, Laisvės Avenue, Kaunas War Museu garden, Vienybės Square, Park Gallery and Kaunas Synagogue are the traditional places for Kaunas Jazz concerts.
On Saturday, 29 April Jazz Street events will invite to enjoy concerts in five outdoor stages, 19 musicians will perform during the concerts across Kaunas centre – from Laisvės Avenue to the old town.
On Sunday, 30 April concerts of sacral jazz music will take place in Kaunas Synagogue and Žąsliai Šv. Jurgis Church.
Kaunas Jazz, by attracting to the city best artists and performers, by giving to the public a choice of various music and events, brings the vibrant spring atmosphere to the city. Hopefully the weather will follow.
