In March, everybody in Kaunas speaks French

March traditionally is a Francophone month all over the world and Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is taking part in spreading the word about culture, cuisine, history, art and everything French to the local community.

French Cultural Centre at the KTU Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities has been inviting lovers of French culture to meet in the events dedicated for the French language, which is connecting 200 million of French speakers around the globe and 890 million of people from 75 countries, members of the International Francophone Organisation.

This and the next week are providing the last chance to dive into French culture and to practice French by talking to prominent guests, speakers and fellow visitors.

THURSDAY, March 21, 17.30

Philippe Edel, Chairman of Alsace-Lithuania Society will talk about the relation of KTU French Cultural Centre and Lithuanian entrance to the European Union. The lecture will be translated into Lithuanian.

WEDNESDAY, March 27, 17.30

The closing of the Francophone month featuring talks on the topic French Language in my Life, by two prominent speakers – HE Vassiliki DICOPOLOU, the Ambassador of Greece in Lithuania and Professor Eugenijus Valatka, KTU Rector. HE Claire Lignières-Counathe, the Ambassador of France will participate in the event.

The Francophone month will close with a concert of French composers’ music performed by a talented family of Makštučiai.
