KTU provides opportunities for employees of the partner universities and enterprises from countries participating in the Erasmus+ Programme (EU member states and third countries associated to the Programme) and other countries of the world (third countries not associated to the Programme) to come for short-term teaching or training visits.
The Erasmus+ programme supports the participation of academic and administrative staff in professional development activities abroad, as well as the participation of labour market professionals in teaching and training students or employees in higher education institutions.
The Programme aims to enable all participants to share their knowledge, gain experience teaching in a new environment, develop new and advanced pedagogical, didactic and digital skills, establish relations with foreign colleagues, share good practices and strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions.
Eligible participants include academic and administrative staff, as well as invited staff from any enterprise, public or private organisation. To ensure high-quality mobility activities and maximize the impact, the mobility activity has to be related to the staff’s professional development and address their learning and personal development needs.
Any teaching or training period abroad can be part of a blended mobility activity.
Blended mobility combines physical mobility with a virtual component. The virtual component enables the mobility participants to perform the intended tasks remotely, including these activities in the overall outcomes of the visit. In the case of blended mobility, both forms of mobility are equivalent and the results achieved during them are equally recognized.
Staff mobility for teaching provides the opportunity for academic staff to visit any faculty of KTU for a teaching mobility. A teaching period can be combined with a training period and still be considered as part of the overall teaching activity. Duration of the activity ranges from 2 days to 2 months of physical mobility, excluding travel time. In case of mobility involving third countries not associated to the Programme, the duration must be from 5 days to 2 months. In both cases, the minimum duration must be consecutive days.
A teaching activity has to comprise a minimum of 8 hours of teaching per week (or any shorter period of stay). If the mobility lasts longer than one week, the minimum number of teaching hours for an incomplete week should be proportional to the duration of that week. The following exceptions apply:
· There is no minimum number of teaching hours for invited staff from enterprises.
· If the teaching activity is combined with a training activity during a single period abroad, the minimum number of hours of teaching per week (or any shorter period of stay) is reduced to 4 hours.
In the case of a teaching visit (except for invited staff from enterprises), the Erasmus+ inter-institutional cooperation agreement must be signed.
Staff working in a public or private organisation (which is not a higher education institution), active in the labour market or in the fields of education, training and youth, research and innovation can be invited for a teaching visit to KTU. The duration of physical mobility is at least 1 day, while the number of teaching hours is not determined, but it must be adequate for the teaching period.
Staff mobility for training provides an opportunity for academic and administrative staff to participate in training activities at KTU that are related to their work and direct functions. This activity can be participation in training events (courses, seminars, trainings, etc.) or job-shadowing visits. Duration of the activity is from 2 days to 2 months of physical mobility, excluding travel time. In case of mobility involving third countries not associated to the Programme, the duration must be from 5 days to 2 months. In both cases, the minimum duration must be consecutive days.
In the case of a training visit, the Erasmus+ inter-institutional cooperation agreement is not required.
The applications are submitted by the participants on the Mobility-Online Platform, Click the button below.
The Erasmus+ grant is awarded as a contribution to the subsistence and travel costs of the mobility participant. The support is not intended to pay the participation, training or other fees related to the mobility activity.
The grant is awarded as a fixed amount regardless of the participant’s actual expenses.
