Research group - Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology

Research interests: gene expression and metabolism of microorganisms, bioinformatics and experimental research and modelling of gene expression regulation processes and metabolism of small molecules using bioinformatics, digital and experimental methods, search, development and application of cellular biosensors for detection and quantification of small molecules, synthetic metabolism, synthetic metabolism development and application of high value low molecular weight biomaterials for biosynthesis. To reduce dependence on fossil resources and limit the negative effects of climate change, it is necessary to find new technologies for the production of various products, including biomaterials and their platform chemicals. The research group develops and applies technologies based on synthetic biology to accelerate the detection of low molecular weight compounds such as phenolic, itaconic and other acids in the environment and microorganism cells, and the development and application of new biotechnological processes for the biosynthesis of high-value biomaterials.
