Research group - Electrochemistry and Chalcogen Chemistry

The research themes to be developed in the physical and inorganic chemistry area are focused on chalcogenide chemistry and electrochemistry. The development and characterization of innovative oxide- and chalcogenide-based functional materials with specific physical and chemical properties, their nano-derivatives, or multi-component composites are relevant for the energetic and sustainable environment. Modification of graphite felt with lead compounds to obtain lightweight electrodes for lead-acid batteries. The use of modified graphite felt electrodes as anodes in microbial fuel cells to improve the characteristics of electron transfer from bacteria to the anode and increase the efficiency of fuel cells.
