Synthesis and Research of New Organic Semiconductors with Naphthalene Tetracarboxydimide Central Fragment

Project no.: 09.3.3-LMT-K-712-15-0066

Project description:

Project objectives:
• Synthesize electron transporting organic semiconductors with a 1,4,5,8-naphthalene-tetracarboxydimide central moiety;
• Characterize their structure by spectral analysis and elemental analysis, investigate optical and thermal properties; to evaluate their suitability for perovskite solar cells.

Project funding:

Project is funded by EU Structural Funds according to the 2014–2020 Operational Programme for the European Union Funds’ Investments priority “Development of scientific competence of researchers, other researchers, students through practical scientific activities” under Measure No. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712.

Project results:

Semiconductors with pentafluorophenyl and pyridine functional groups were synthesized and investigated. In summary, the results obtained showed that not all synthesized compounds can function as electron transport materials in perovskite solar cells. Both compounds 2 and 4 have good thermal stability. Compound 4 has the best fluorescence quenching effect and permeability to perovskite.
