Synthesis and investigation of novel bipolar organic electroactive compounds

Project no.: 09.3.3-LMT-K-712-10-0092

Project description:

The purpose of this project is to strengthen and widen the scope of student research abilities. During the course of the practice student will learn new synthetic methods of organic compounds, structural analysis and properties investigation methods. A series of carbazole- and phenothiazine-based electroactive compounds will be synthesized, and their thermal, photophysical, photoelectrical and charge transporting properties will be investigated. Their photochemical, thermal, electrochemical stability and the ability to form stable amorphous layers will be evaluated.

Project funding:

Project is funded by EU Structural Funds according to the 2014–2020 Operational Programme for the European Union Funds’ Investments priority “Development of scientific competence of researchers, other researchers, students through practical scientific activities” under Measure No. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712.

Project results:

In the course of the research, one series of compounds will be synthesized containing the donor phenothiazine and carbazole fragments, and the trifluorophenyl acceptor moiety.
Their thermal, photophysical, photoelectrical and charge transporting properties will be investigated. Their photochemical, electrochemical stability and the ability to form stable amorphous layers will be evaluated.
