It is a project based on the best practices of foreign countries to identify the most effective models of technology transfer and commercialization, to strengthen and expand activities of knowledge and technology transfer, IP protection and management, research and business cooperation promotion and to strengthen R&D specialists expertise in the field of knowledge and technology transfer. The projects activities aim to ensure the acquisition of foreign experience, perception of processes and the possibility to get familiar with the operating models of technology transfer in other countries, thereby increasing the value added and contributing to the development of an innovative knowledge-based economy, business and state competitiveness. Technology transfer specialist will attend dedicated training courses where they will broaden the competences. Additionally, participation in the activities of international orgnization opens up new opportunities and ensure exchange of good practices. During the project the technology transfer office will hire new specialists who will ensure the implementation of good practices.

This project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund according to the 2014–2020 Operational Programme for the European Union Funds’ Investments under measure No. 01.2.2-CPVA-K-703 “Strengthening of Activities of Competence Centres’ and Innovation and Technology Transfer Centers’ “.
Project results:
1. To attract and retain a high level of competent technology transfer, business development and market analysis specialists in order to effectively analyze and forecast emerging innovations and technologies.
2. To create a model that directly initiates establishing of spin-off companies at the University which would be based on the University scientists’ and other researchers’ generated knowledge and/or technology; the model would be administered by a specialist of entrepreneurship based business development.
3. To obtain the resources that are necessary for effective work, i.e. an updated base of information tools (hardware and software).
4. To strengthen the level of competence that is necessary for effective innovation and technology transfer, which would be achieved by obtaining advisory services from local and international experts.
5. To obtain access to intellectual property databases and tools for analysis.
6. To join and participate in the international organizations that unite universities which carry out the innovation and technology transfer activities.
7. To develop a single unified system for time management, information processing, storage, and dissemination, which would enable technology transfer specialists to work more efficiently.
8. To ensure employee and functional units accountability and cooperation in trying to achieve the best activity results of the organization in the area of R&D commercialization by implementing the management systems for teamwork, objectives, and effectiveness.
9. To implement improvements in the area of IP – to prepare documents which regulate the rights of students’ created objects and their disposal.
10. To encourage scientists and other researchers to develop value-added IP products, to form the business representatives’ opinion about the value of the created IP, its potential and applicability in business.
11. To organize joint events for scientists, other researchers, and business representatives that would promote the opportunities for cooperation between science and business as well as successful technology transfer cases.
12. To provide the University scientists and other researchers with high quality services that are related to information about patents: monitoring of patent information, search and analysis of upcoming patents, consulting on searching for information that is related to patents.
