UAB Vertablox and its partners (Kaunas University of Technology, UAB Gluk Media, UAB cargoGO Logistics) are implementing the European Union-funded project “RoadMaster VR” No 08-004-K-0020. The product developed within the project will be used to identify, analyse and manage the reactions to various stressful situations faced by drivers.
Purpose of the product:
– To measure driver stress levels in the work environment, more specifically while driving.
– To identify situations that cause stress to drivers using video capture technology.
– To analyse the driver’s biological signals (e.g. pulse, skin electrical conductivity, etc.) in order to determine the driver’s stress level in a given situation.
– Send video and biological data to a server using 5G technology.
– Transform the video into virtual reality (VR) training.
– Integrate artificial intelligence algorithms that can use the collected data to create personalised training plans for the driver and predict future stressful situations.
– Send VR training to stressed drivers using 5G technology.
– Provide VR training to allow the driver to experience and learn to manage stressful situations, from basic stress management techniques to specific situations.
– Offer real-time feedback and support to the driver through VR training to help them better understand and manage stress levels.
– Provide reports to the employer or the driver on recurring stressful situations and their progress based on the VR training.
– At the end of the VR training, the driver will be prepared to deal effectively with stressful situations while driving.
– Using 5G technology to support fast and efficient data transfer between the driver, the VR system and the server.
The aim of the project is to develop a 5G-enabled tool to identify, analyse and manage the various stressful situations drivers face and to manage the associated reactions, enabling VR training.
The project is funded by the Economic Recovery and Resilience Plan “Next Generation Lithuania” (RRF).
The total value of the project is EUR 4.317.539,88.
The EGADP grant amounts to EUR 2,721,994.41.
The project promoter’s own funds – EUR 1,595,545.47.
Project funding:
This research project is funded by the European Union Funds for the period 2021-2027 and/or the funds of Recovery and Resilience Facility and the State Budget of the Republic of Lithuania under the measure No. 10-001-05-04-01 “Increasing the value created by the telecommunications system and the efficiency of the use of infrastructure” under the action “Designing, testing and developing digital technology solutions requiring 5G connectivity”
Project results:
The methods for identifying dangerous situations when driving trucks will be researched. Two products will also be developed:
1. Hardware and software that record and transmit data while driving trucks using 5G communication.
2. Hardware and software that allows simulating situations for training and training by simulating situations in virtual reality.
Period of project implementation: 2024-01-01 - 2025-12-31
