Research on Morphing Wing Trailing Edge Mechanisms (KGS)

Project no.: PP32/1814

Project description:

Modern aircraft flight greatest efficiency is achieved with only a few operating velocities, which makes them part of the flight be not enough effective. Morphing wing is superior to conventional, because it adapts to aerodynamic environment and ensures that the shape of the wing is optimal all the time. Morphing wing significantly increases overall aircraft performance, reduces fuel consumption, CO2 emission and noise.
This research aims to design a software, which could generate compliant structure capable of morphing into the desired wing trailing edge shape when certain force on the control rod is applied. In addition, investigations are carried out on structure advantages and implementation to the aircraft itself.
