Research infrastructure for precision fermentation of bioactive compounds

Project no.: 10-093-K-0128

Project description:

Research infrastructure for precision fermentation of bioactive compounds
This project aims to establish a national research infrastructure for precision fermentation, dedicated to the development of bioactive food components, process modeling, and the identification of compounds that support gut health. The implementation of the project will increase Lithuania’s scientific visibility in the field of sustainable food biotechnology, promote international cooperation, and contribute to the goals of the EU’s circular bioeconomy and “Farm to Fork” strategy.

Project funding:

The project is financed with the funds of the Economic Recovery and Resilience Facility under the “New Generation Lithuania” plan and with the funds of the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania.

Project results:

To ensure the conduct of high-quality applied research and innovation in the field of precision fermentation biotechnology by establishing an experimental infrastructure for the synthesis of bioactive plant-derived compounds and the generation of data for the dissemination of project results and the preparation of new EU bioeconomy proposals
