Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) seeks to implement an infrastructure modernization (building renovation) project, which aims to increase energy efficiency, reduce thermal energy consumption, operating costs and increase the attractiveness of the student campus. The planned project is intended to renovate and insulate the building of KTU Faculty of Mechanics and Engineering Design, located at Studentų str. 56, Kaunas, thus optimizing the consumption of thermal energy and reducing the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere.
Project activities:
1. Building insulation.
2. Modernization of building heating and lighting systems.
The project envisages a complex renovation of the building, applying the package of energy saving measures recommended in the energy audit report. The implementation of the project will significantly contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption will be reduced to 72.27 kWh / sq.m per year. After the implementation of the project, it is planned to save about 42.65 percent. heat energy consumption and achieve energy efficiency class C of the building.
Project funding:
The European Union Structural Funds project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund according to the European Union Funds Investment Operational Program 2014-2020 Priority 4 “Promotion of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Production and Use” Measure 04.3.1-VIPA-T-113 “Renovation of State-Owned Buildings (II ) ’
