The overall research question of the research project is how dynamic managerial capabilities of family business effect its innovation performance. The objectives of the research project are: to carry out critical literature review and analysis on the interrelationship between dynamic managerial capabilities and innovation performance of the family businesses; to carry out critical literature review and analysis on the effect of social capital, the internal and external social ties of the family members; to develop conceptual model explaining the interrelationships between dynamic managerial capabilities, in particular social ties, and innovation performance of the family business; to test the conceptual model empirically and formulate contributions to the theory of dynamic capabilities and in particular dynamic managerial capabilities and innovation performance of family businesses; to formulate managerial implications for family businesses and SMEs.

Project results:
The results of the research will help to animate innovation performance of the family businesses through developing dynamic managerial capabilities, especially social capital, of the family manager. The main expected results of the project are: report of the results of the multiple case research; report of the results of the survey; at least 3 presentations at the top international scientific conferences (e.g. European Academy of Management (EURAM); Strategic Management Society (SMS); Academy of Management (AOM); European Group of Organizational Studies (EGOS) and etc.); Research paper for Q1-Q2 journal (on the basis of multiple case research); Research paper for Q1-Q2 journal (on the basis of survey).
