Oral infections are the most progressive pathologies in the world. They result in significantly poorer quality of life and high health care costs. In order to solve this problem, self-degrading films of the oral mucosa with immobilized natural bioactive compounds can be used, which are applied to the oral mucosa in the form of strips, and when they decompose or swell, these bioactive compounds are released. The aim of this project is to develop oral mucosal disintegrating films from natural polysaccharide derivatives and natural extracts with controlled release of bioactives and to study their properties.
Project results:
During the duration of the project, multilayer films from natural polysaccharide derivatives and auxiliary materials with immobilized bioactive plant and algae extracts will be formed, and their properties will be studied. The young researcher participating in the project will gain new competences in the field of self-degrading films with immobilized natural bioactive compounds.
Period of project implementation: 2023-10-04 - 2024-04-30
