Financial support for updating scientific infrastructure

Project no.: S-IRA-22-5

Project description:

The goal is to install a solar cell prototype characterization station that meets modern requirements, with all the necessary equipment. An essential element of the planned equipment complex is a high-class LED sunlight spectrum simulator that corresponds to at least AAA class. The high-quality light source ensures the reliability of the published results and the reproducibility of the results. Along with the solar simulator, it is planned to purchase other equipment that complements it and is necessary for the characterization of solar cell prototypes, since the infrastructure currently available at the university does not provide such opportunities. For electrical characterization, an I/V meter with software and additional characterization modules (maximum power tracking software; external quantum yield measurement option) will be purchased. This will ensure reliable and rapid characterization of solar cells, which is important for the development of new materials for third-generation solar cells. For the long-term and reliable operation of the equipment, it is planned to purchase a calibrated cell, which is necessary to ensure compliance of the solar simulator with the standard AM1.5 solar spectrum, and a sample holder with the ability to control the temperature to prevent overheating of the samples and the impact of environmental temperature fluctuations on the measurements.

Project funding:

Financial support for updating scientific infrastructure

Project results:

The acquired equipment is used for high-quality characterization of third-generation solar cell prototypes, expanding the available competences in material synthesis and layer formation and the necessary equipment. A complete system has been created – from the material to the device and its full characterization.
