The main idea of the project is to propose a new, eco-friendly and advanced fibre reinforced epoxy composites with at least the same mechanical properties as the traditional glass fibre composites. For the implementation of this idea, the project has the ambition to combine theoretical modelling and experimental research with nano-engineered technologies. The new composite will be developed using only materials with low greenhouse gas emissions and clean, advanced technologies.
Project funding:
Projects funded by the Research Council of Lithuania (RCL), Projects carried out by researchers’ teams
Project results:
It is intended to present two new technologies on green epoxy and bio-based fibres modification to achieve fibre reinforced composite with outstanding mechanical and tailored multifunctional properties, such as strain sensing and de-icing. Due to this, eco-friendly composites will contribute to longer exploitation, durability and improved general performance.
Period of project implementation: 2023-07-01 - 2026-06-30
