Crosslinked cellulose biocomposites (Cellink)

Project no.: P-MIP-19-390

Project description:

Project CELLINK is focused on a novel process to prepare cellulose fibres with superior properties for biocomposites application. Cellulose photo
initiated crosslinking will be enabled by a chemical modification. Scalable fibre production processes will be employed, namely electrospinning
and dry-jet wet spinning. Finally, biocomposites will be prepared and their micromechanics investigated. Project will result in: i) a method to
chemically graft photo active cross-linkable agents onto cellulose; ii) Electrospinning and dry-jet wet spinning processes conditions; iii) routine to
prepare novel fibres and composites of these; iv) insights on the micromechanics of composite will be provided.
