Collaborative Recommendations and Adaptive Control for Personalized Energy Saving (enCOMPASS)

Project no.: 723059
Project website: http://www.envisionproject.eu/

Project description:

The enCompass project aims to implement and validate an integrated social and technical approach to behavioral change in energy saving. This will be done through the development of innovative, user-friendly digital tools that make energy consumption data accessible and understandable to different consumers and stakeholders (residents, workers, students, directors of construction companies, utilities, information technology providers); enabling them to work together to save energy and managing your energy needs in cost-effective and comfort-saving ways.
The solutions developed will be tested by realistic pilot studies, assessing the impact of elements of individual behavior change in 3 different types of buildings (residential buildings, schools and public buildings) in 3 different climatic zones and 3 different cultural environments, i.e. Greece, Germany and Switzerland.

Project funding:

The EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation “Horizon 2020”

Project results:

In implementing the project, a very innovative platform will be created to promote a more efficient and effective approach to energy savings, using data generated from smart meters by transferring them to user-friendly digital media and providing energy saving recommendations through advanced consumer behavioral models. Using existing partners technologies and products, the project aims to provide energy consumption data to various types of stakeholders: families, building and office managers, company employees, utilities, easier to use and more attractive to explore.
