The quality of industrial biofuel is constantly changing. There is notable significant fluctuation of humidity and a part of mineral impurities, which makes control of the combustion process more difficult. It is also important to reduce the emissions generated by combustion of biofuels, which is particularly important in the proper control of the combustion process. However, with the constant change in the quality of the fuel supplied, maintaining the appropriate (according to efficiency) and low-emission combustion regimes becomes very complicated. Although modern industrial biofuel boilers are controlled by computers but even modern control systems do not “see” flames, “do not know” what is happening in the furnace, and control is processed according to the output parameters – combustion products (flue gas) temperature, oxygen concentration, thermal load. However, this does not suffice for precise control of the combustion process. This work is intended to study the emission characteristics of a flame in different wavelengths from IR to UV range. The results of the research will allow developing the principle of automated control of biofuel combustion based on flame emission characteristics.
