The project is dedicated to the historical study of the work of Lithuanian expatriate architect Jonas Mulokas (1907-1983). The architect’s career began in interwar Lithuania, after graduating from Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas. After fleeing the Soviet occupation, Mulokas continued his activity in a refugee camp in Augsburg and later moved to the USA. Designing in various locations (mostly in Chicago), the architect searched for the Lithuanian element in his architectural works and became one of the most prominent promoters of national identity in emigration.
