The aim of this Project is to design, synthesize and investigate novel antimicrobial thermo-responsive shape memory photopolymers, including vitrimers, from plant-derived materials, applicable in modern light-based technologies. New chemical structure polymers will be developed by a combination of green engineering and green chemistry concepts, as well as the best practices of highly experienced in the field scientists from Lithuania, France, and Finland. In-depth investigation of antimicrobial activity of new photopolymers, its dependence on polymer structure, and the life cycle assessment of new photopolymers will be carried out. The research findings can be directly implemented by regional SMEs (one of which is involved as an associated partner) and are of great interest for the high technology industry worldwide. The results obtained will be reported at international scientific conferences, publications in high-impact (Q1-Q2) scientific journals of the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science database, and disseminated to the general public.
