AI for supporting inclusive education in secondary school (AI4IE)

Project no.: 10-044-P-0001 / P-EDU-23-6

Project description:

The Educational Research Breakthrough project aims to strengthen and improve the quality of educational research and international cooperation by involving participants in international education and training activities.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly significant in transforming inclusive education in secondary schools. Inclusive education aims to provide equal opportunities and support for students from disadvantaged groups. AI is crucial in promoting inclusive education in secondary schools by providing personalised learning experiences, enhancing accessibility, and enabling early intervention. By leveraging the power of AI, educators and institutions can create a more equitable and inclusive educational environment where all students can thrive and reach their full potential. The proposed AI4IE project aligns with the focus of exploring the presented and future-oriented scenarios of AI-inclusive education from the teachers’ perspective and identifying gaps between them. By designing a prototype framework for an AI-supported toolkit to address identified gaps, a prototype of AI-inclusive education will be developed and empirically validated in the real environment. Overall, the dissemination of activities along with the usability of the products, alignment of the guidelines for educational leadership at the secondary level and policy briefs with the research evidence and findings from the best practice analysis will support inclusive education in secondary schools and contribute to the successful implementation of policies and systems, ultimately benefiting teachers, students, their parents and society at large.
