Acquisition of a GC-MS Analysis System for Research on Sustainable Plant-Based Bioproducts and Authenticity Assurance
Project funding:
The project is financed with the funds of the Economic Recovery and Resilience Facility under the “New Generation Lithuania” plan and with the funds of the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania.
Project results:
During the project, the research infrastructure of the Kaunas University of Technology Food Institute will be strengthened through the acquisition of a new-generation gas chromatograph coupled with a mass spectrometer (GC-MS). This equipment will enable precise analysis of the chemical composition of plant-based products, identification of metabolites formed during fermentation, authenticity markers, and potential food safety risks.
The project results will contribute to the development of new research initiatives and international project proposals under European Union programmes such as Horizon Europe and WIDERA, strengthening the competitiveness of Lithuanian researchers in the fields of food science, fermentation, and circular bioeconomy.
Period of project implementation: 2026-04-23 - 2027-01-31
Project coordinator: Kaunas University of Technology
