Annotation:

As modern fashion industry is becoming more and more global, it is especially important to simplify the product design processes and to accelerate them to the maximum at the same time maintaining high requirements for quality aiming to generate large amounts of new models in a quick and high-quality manner. Using a prototype of a virtual product, it is possible to make sure of suitability of the materials depending on the material properties and structure.
The research performed in doctoral thesis foresee the possibilities to accelerate, simplify and apply 3D design systems of clothing more widely in the initial stages of design. A new method enabling to generate 3D images of the models based on the complex indicator of hand is proposed. A new way to calculate drape coefficient based on the projection of the image of the product from the top (or from the bottom) was proposed when determining drape specifics of the material using both instrumentals and sensory methods. The correlation between the parameters calculated using the new methods and the standardized ones was determined. It is important to evaluate the influence of different images on perception of the content, images of three types (photographed image (2D), scanned image (3D), virtually generated image (3D)) were analyzed.
