Global Faculty Week: open lecture “Why BODY and MIND practices are necessary for modern society?”

KTU community is invited to open lecture by Simona Pajaujienė, PhD. The event is part of „Global Faculty Week 2024”.

According to World Health Organization COVID19 is not the only active pandemic currently. This includes obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, psychological disorders, physical inactivity, spinal cord disorders, etc.  This raises the need for active trainings and activities, that can help us move healthier, breath, relax and spread the positivity. However, major part of society is too shy or simply don’t have knowledge on how to improve their health and well-being.

During this theorical-practical lecture you will understand the need of “Body and Mind” practices, learn about physiological and neurobiological breathing mechanics, realize the importance of proper breathing practice, perform an oxygen test (a health component), test breathing and movement sequences as well as learn how to apply gain knowledge and continue practice at home or work environment.

Simona Pajaujienė is a PhD of social (educology) sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Coaching Sciences, Lithuanian Sport University. Simona Pajaujienė also has a master’s degree in public health and specializes in well-being field, has 30 year experience as a coach. In addition, she is a founder and programs director at “ActiveTraining” – accredited professional training school.

The lecture will happen in English language.
