Lithuanian Research and Industry 2020: Transforming Industry for a Sustainable Future

Conference

“Lithuanian Research and Industry” is an annual international conference that discusses the key issues of the country’s economic and industrial development, technological progress development policy and its strategy.

Traditionally, Kaunas University of technology (KTU) invites experts from science, business, and political fields to share their ideas and provide insights on the topic. As of this year, the main theme of the conference is the transformation of industry for a better, sustainable future.

During the conference, a presentation in English will be provided by Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Science, Culture, Education, and Youth. Panel discussions with experts will also be held to identify future industrial challenges, and to discover opportunities and possible changes that could lead to a sustainable transition for a climate-neutral economy.

The event will focus on the European Green Deal aim of making Europe the first climate-neutral continent. The European Commission has set out an ambitious strategy for sustainable economic growth to improve the quality of life for present and future generations, and to build a modern and competitive economy. This strategy will serve as the focal starting point for stimulating discussions and sharing knowledge.

The event will take place on November 13, 2020 (Friday) at 10 AM.

Most parts of the event will be held in Lithuanian.
