Annotation: The dissertation investigates the development and application of PVA-based colour-changing polymer composite films for ionizing radiation detection. Three film systems were fabricated and evaluated: PVA–dye composites for low-dose indication, silver-modified PVA films for the analysis of radiation-induced optical changes, and Ag–PVA–dye composites combining dye bleaching with the formation of silver-related nanostructures. The influence of dye class, AgNO₃ concentration, solvent composition and storage conditions on dose sensitivity, optical response and post-irradiation stability was assessed. The films were characterized using UV–Vis spectrophotometry, FTIR, XRD, SEM/EDS and AFM methods. A pilot study was also performed to evaluate the applicability of silver-modified PVA films for secondary 2D dose verification in stereotactic radiosurgery using an individualized Gamma Knife treatment plan.
