Annotation: Pyrazoles are common scaffolds in organic and medicinal chemistry, often used as an outset for the preparation of more complex molecular systems with relevance in the pharmaceutical field. These heterocycles have marked their importance amongst academia and the pharmaceutical industry, where pyrazole moiety-containing molecules are used as approved drugs or currently are under investigation for expanded applications. This doctoral thesis covers the synthesis and investigation of novel pyrazole-based small molecular weight compounds. The research was mainly focused on two directions – the creation of new fused pyrazole-diazepinone systems with potential biological activity as well as the synthesis of nature-inspired lamellarin O analogues bearing a pyrazole core with the aim to improve anticancer activity of the natural compound.
