Annotation: Current trends in car travel have a significant negative impact on the environment. Unsustainable mobility of individuals is determined not only by external circumstances, but also by internal factors – attitudes, norms, perceived behavioral control and habits. Therefore, in order to encourage individuals to travel more sustainably, i.e. instead of the car, choosing more environmentally friendly modes of mobility – public, non-motorized transport and walking, it is important to create not only favorable external conditions, but also incentives that activate internal factors. In other words, it is important to apply not only strict measures to promote sustainable mobility, which are aimed at external barriers that prevent more sustainable travel, but also soft ones – aimed at socio-psychological barriers. This study developed, implemented and evaluated an intervention model for promoting sustainable mobility. The intervention was implemented in the form of the sustainable mobility initiative “Move green”, in which the working collectives in Kaunas were invited to participate. The initiative was aimed at encouraging participants to reduce commuting by car and to choose environmentally friendly modes of mobility – public, non-motorized transport and walking. By combining quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods, the impact of the intervention model on behavior and socio-psychological factors determining it was evaluated.
