Annotation: Due to the ongoing digital transformation, the previously examined forms of collective institutional entrepreneurship insufficiently address the challenges posed by the speed of institutional change and the complexity of the institutional organizational field. This dissertation analyses the phenomenon of collective institutional entrepreneurship in regulated industry, investigating the reasons for its formation, the process of institutional work, and the roles of various actors and institutional entrepreneurs during this change. Through an empirical qualitative study and analysis of the institutional change in the FinTech sector in Lithuania from 2004 to 2018, the dissertation reveals the successfully operating phenomenon of collective institutional entrepreneurship during this institutional change. A detailed analysis of contextual factors, institutional work and actors’ interaction allowed the development of a new type of collective institutional entrepreneurship model that operates in the regulated industry. Based on the obtained research results, the model of collective institutional entrepreneurship is developed, followed by the theoretical propositions. The recommendations to scholars and practitioners are provided regarding the application of this new collective institutional entrepreneurship model in other regulated industries.
