Annotation:

Textile materials are specific, due to their unique structure and flexibility, and therefore, material investigation methods that has been developed and proven to be effective for different research, cannot be applied to analyse woven structures. Researchers face a problem of finding the means of applying the well-known and successful methods for the investigation of problems related to woven textile materials.  Thus it is necessary to predict the nature of their deformation not only during the technological process, but also during the operational cycle. It has to be noted that the transversal and longitudinal dimensions of the analyzed object in the whole deformational field changing unevenly. Objective evaluation of deformational characteristics provides with the ability of proper anticipation of deformational behaviour of technical textiles and multilayer materials. Development of image analysis methods help to improve the quality of experiments by lifting the researches to a higher level. With the development of image analysis tools, methods of digital image processing can be applied due to their high universality in textile materials’ researches. When the image analysis methods are applied of deformed textile materials’ investigations, the researchers are enabled to use new tools to perform an explicit analysis of woven materials’ behavior.
