Annotation:
Changes in the attitude towards career education, as well as improvement of the system, allows making an assumption that students gain a great deal of information on career issues both at school, and outside the school. Yet, is this information properly reasoned? What educational environments empower students to perform reasoning on their career choice? The aim of the research was to define the educational environments empowering students to perform reasoning on their career choice.
Using research literature analysis, the parameters and performance model of educational environments empowering students to perform reasoning on their career choice have been clarified. Emphasis was put on the process of empowering students to perform reasoning (focusing on the level of their preparedness to perform reasoning on career choice: the actual development level, the zone of proximal development, the level of potential development (following the Vygotsky’s (1986) Social Development Theory), which is developed in the context of educational environments of school and individuals who are close to a student. Based on theoretical foundation, a methodology has been justified. Qualitative research strategy has been used. A theoretical model of educational environments empowering students to perform reasoning on their career choice has been developed which could be applied at general education schools when activating the student empowerment to perform reasoning.
