On October 1st, 4.30 pm, at KTU Santaka Valley the opening of the Milan Polytechnic Institute (MPI) exhibition Design to Feed the World will take place. During the opening MPI Dr Alessandro Biamonti and Prof Francesco Trabucco will present a lecture Design Today. The basis of the lecture will be the book ‘Design’ by F. Trabucco and a book by A. Biamonti ‘Design & Interior’.
Design to Feed the World presents a selection of projects from undergraduate and graduate students and research teams of schools that are members of Cumulus, the International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The projects are inspired by the central theme of Expo Milan 2015 Feeding the Planet-Energy for Life, highlighting how design culture applied to the broad topic of nutrition, leads to important results in the various areas of design research, namely product, communication, fashion, interior, interaction, service, and more. The design projects relate to the general topic of knowledge and education and go on to illustrate design applied to the context of sustainability and within the different stages of the food chain.
